Van Patten honored
Dick Van Patten--star of the 1970s TV series "Eight
Is Enough" and, more importantly, star o the
original Active Parenting of Teens video--was
recently honored for his work in film. Pat Berry,
executive director of the Marco Island (FL) Film
Festival, writes: "Van Patten's work exemplifies the
true meaning of family entertainment."
Dr. Popkin on the road
Michael Popkin, founder and president of Active
Parenting, is frequently invited to speak to helping
professionals. Recently he gave the keynote
address--titled Violence in Our Communities: What We
Can Do--as the Ansbacher lecturer at the North
American Society of Adlerian Psychology 2000 Conference
in St. Paul, MN.
In September 2000 Dr. Popkin also keynoted the joint
conference of the Nebraska Counseling Association and the
Nebraska School Psychologists Association in Omaha.
