| Active Parenting President Michael H. Popkin, Ph.D., will teach a course titled Parent EducationLeadership Training at the International Committee for Adlerian Summer Schools and Institutes 2001 (ICASSI), July 22-28, in the Netherlands. The course will cover core Adlerian principles such as goals of behavior, styles of parenting, consequences and other parenting techniques. There will be special emphasis on parent education as violence prevention. Students will also learn effective methods of implementing, promoting and leading state-of-the-art parenting education programs in a variety of community settings. In addition, Web-based training and Internet applications will be explored. ICASSI courses teach
Adlerian theory and its application in a variety of
settings such as families, schools, community agencies
and businesses. The professional and personal development
courses range from introductory to advanced and it is
possible to earn continuing education units (APA, NBCC).
