What's
in it for me?
Most importantly, you will have the satisfaction of reaching parents
you might not be able to reach through traditional means. Many
parents are unable to attend parenting groups because of work
schedules, child care issues, or transportation problems. By leading
an online parenting workshop, you'll be helping parents learn
proven Active Parenting skills in the comfort of their own homes—from
the comfort of your own home!
Leaders will receive payment for successfully leading each online
group. How much is in your hands! Depending on the options you
choose for participation in the program, you can get paid from
$10 per parent on up. Certified Leaders generally receive $10
for each parent that Active Parenting places in their groups,
and $15 for each parent that the leader recruits. Independent
Leaders set the price to parents for participation in their online
groups, so the amount that the leader keeps varies. (See the Options for

What is the difference between
an Independent and a Certified Leader?
There are two
types of online leaders-independent and certified:
Independent Online Leaders recruit parents to fill their own groups and purchase parent kits for each parent (at $44.95 + s/h). They set their own price to charge and distribute the materials to participants. Active Parenting will not place parents into an independent leader's group, but does provide marketing materials to help recruit participants. Independent Leaders may only participate in Option 1. Certified Online Leaders recruit their own parents to fill groups, and/or have parents placed into their groups by Active Parenting. (While Active Parenting cannot guarantee placement of parents into your group, we will make our best effort to do so.)
In order to become certified, leaders
complete a written evaluation and lead a trial group with the guidance of Active
Parenting Manager of Work/Life Solutions, Cathy Daughtridge.
(You will even be paid per participant in your trial group!) Active Parenting
provides certified leaders with a personalized web page to help with recruiting.
Certified Leaders may choose any of the four options of participation.
