Dear Parents,
This fall we are pleased to sponsor an exciting online parenting education programthe Active Parenting Today Online Group. This innovative program offers an effective and convenient way to help parents raise children who are cooperative, responsible and able to resist peer pressure.
The Active Parenting Today Online Group program brings parents of children ages 5-12 together over the Internet for a six-week period. During each online session parents identify daily family problems and then learn communication skills for solving and preventing them. What kinds of problems? Well, tantrums chore wars sibling rivalry homework hassles peer pressure to name just a few.
Millions of parents across the country have already benefited from the lively Active Parenting Today video-discussion courses that are held in schools, churches and community centers. The online program allows busy parents to participate in the same program at a time and place that is convenient for them.
How does it work?
The six-week online group begins
on a Saturday morning when the first discussion session is posted
on the website. Parents log on and attend each session
and participate in the discussion bulletin board at convenient
times during the week. Each session includes real-life multi-cultural
vignettes on CD-ROM. Both traditional and single-parent families
are included in the video and accompanying Parent's Guide.
The next session is posted on the following Saturday. A certified
online group leader guides the online discussion and provides
individual feedback to parents about specific situations with
their children.
We are fortunate to have (name) leading this Active
Parenting Now workshop. (Insert
brief biographical information about the group leader here.)
Each participant will receive a Parent's Guide, which includes
activities and guide sheets reinforcing and expanding on skills
and concepts from each of the six sessions.
In order to provide the best online discussion, we're limiting registration to 20 people. To register or receive more information, please e-mail (address), or phone (number).
We are looking forward to a terrific group!
Sincerely,
Denise Myers
