Active Parenting Programs Accepted for Review by SAMHSA for NREPP List of Evidence-Based Programs

updated 11/05/07
We are proud to announce that SAMHSA (Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration) has accepted Active Parenting Now and Families in Action (which includes Active Parenting of Teens) for review by NREPP (National Registry of Evidence-Based Programs). These programs will soon be listed on the NREPP web site. This is an important step towards having our programs listed in the NREPP registry.

SAMHSA closed the process of review for more than two years while it changed a system that was criticized for excluding credible programs such as ours. When they reopened the process in January of 2007, we submitted three programs for review: Active Parenting Now, Active Parenting of Teens, and Families in Action. We at Active Parenting know how important it is to many of our customers that our programs are recognized by SAMHSA, and we are optimistic about the new review system and application process.

We were recently informed that the programs we submitted have been accepted for review. The process will take several months. Keep checking this page! We’ll update it as we receive more news.
