leaders of classes for stepfamilies
Thousands of new
stepfamilies are formed every year, each with unique challenges.
This means an ever-increasing need for stepfamily education leadersand
trainers like you to teach them.
Track #3 will be
led by Steven Hargrave. Steven has been using the Active Parenting
for Stepfamilies program since its introduction. Also participating
in Track #3 is Dr. Michael Popkin, co-author of the program and
founder of Active Parenting Publishers.
At
the Active Parenting for Stepfamilies Trainers track you
will . . .
- receive training and
authorization to conduct your own Leader Training Workshops (LTWs)and
earn extra income
- learn how to implement
and publicize your LTWs
- get advice from the
authors of the program about what your LTW participants will
need to know
- enhance your presentation
skills by working in small groups
- network with fellow
educators who understand the challenges you face every day
- learn how to teach
group facilitation skills that are important in any leadership
position (including dealing with difficult attendees)
- learn the absolutes
required for a successful LTW, along with ways to adapt the course
material for your particular audience
- become re-energized
in this uplifting and motivational atmosphere

After
successfully completing the Active Parenting for Stepfamilies
Trainers track,
you will . . . |
- be able to conduct
Active
Parenting for Stepfamilies Leader Training Workshops
- be able to charge
fees for your workshops
- be authorized to provide
certification to new leaders
- receive 2 CEUs from
NBCC or 20 contact
hours
- receive the program
training tape of your choice
- receive a DVD of your
mini-presentation for review

| To participate
in the Active Parenting for Stepfamilies track, you must
meet the following requirements: |
- You must have
attended a Leader Training Workshop. To participate
in this track fo the TOT, you must complete either an Active
Parenting or an Active Parenting for Stepfamilies
LTW. An Active Parenting LTW will be held one day prior
to the TOT. For other dates and locations, check out our Leader Training
Workshop web page.
- You must be
familiar with the program content prior to the Training of Trainers. It is best if you have led
one or more parent groups, but we make exceptions if you agree
to lead a parent group after you attend the Training of Trainers
to complete your certification. Don't forget that you may preview
any program free for 30 days.
