An Invitation to Leaders and Sponsors of the new Active Parenting: First Five Years parenting curriculum

Thank you for being an early adopter of our newest curriculum, Active Parenting: First Five Years. We are excited about the feedback we have already received from many of you, and we hope that the program will serve you and the families you reach with it for many years to come.
As you know, it is more important than ever to provide evidence of effectiveness for what we do in parenting education. Some of you depend on this for funding. All of us benefit from adding to the scientific base of parenting education. For these reasons I am asking for your participation in our national study on the effectiveness of this groundbreaking program.
We are fortunate to be working with an experienced group of researchers from Oklahoma State University (OSU) to make sure this effort is conducted according to the rigorous standards of groups like NREPP and other important lists. The OSU team has selected a short battery of reliable and valid measures which we ask that you administer to parents twice: as a Pre-Survey at the beginning of Session 1 and as a Post-Survey at the end of Session 4. Each time should only take about 15 minutes.
We also need your help in providing a control group for the study. This would require that you conduct an Orientation session and administer a Control Survey 3 to 4 weeks before your Five Years class begins. You would not be able to present any program content to parents until Session 1. We understand that having a control group may not be feasible for everyone, so it is not a requirement for participation in the study. But those of you who can participate with a control group will enjoy the best of our participation incentives!
And now about those participation incentives…
Both leaders and parents can earn them by completing steps in the study process.
Incentives for the leader include:

This form is not a binding agreement. It will simply alert us to your interest in participating in the study and provide us with a way of getting in touch with you.
You will need your own Active Parenting: First Five Years program kit in order to participate in the study. We will send you a Study Packet that contains everything else you will need. You will be able to use your group’s individual survey results for your own program evaluation, and we will also send you a copy of the overall field test results.
